James Vargas is currently recording demo tracks for his second smooth jazz album after his self-titled debut and stellar live shows at The Catalina Island Jazztrax Festival led to his being named Jazztrax Debut Artist of the Year in December 2004.

He returned from America to London in June 2005 after appearing at the Lexus Jazz Festival at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, and then flew to the tiny island of Ibiza, the clubbing capital of the world, where he is currently performing with the best and brightest dj's in club music.

James has been honoured to open for and perform with such musical luminaries as David Sanborn, Chris Botti, Down To The Bone, Blondie, Leburn Maddox, Sugar and Silk, Brandon Block, Jeremy Healy, Lisa Millet, Aaron Ross and Sophie Ellis Bextor. He has recently been very active in the house music scene, stamping his strong, soulful, funky sax signature on recent Defected Artists Copywright release "Essence of Life" as well as Duffnote's Richard Earnshaw's eagerly awaited new album.
